Update! This video is quite old, since then I have learned to fry scream really successfully. I could do it all day, no discomfort. The problem is it seems like what Alex does is false chord distortion and every tutorial I have seen on that causes me vocal discomfort. The whole “rough sigh” thing just feels like it’s creating friction and irritation, almost immediately. So the journey continues.

First Taylor Swift song I've ever knowingly heard (but then I have retired to Tassie!) ... I was interested in your reaction rather than Swifty's song, after your debut with Lolli Wren. You made some interesting observations about attention spans ... when I went to film school back in the 70s, the accepted wisdom was that, for tv audiences, the average time that an average audience would invest in your on-screen product before getting bored was 16 seconds. By the time I was making music videos in the 90s, the maximum had shrunk to 6 seconds ... now, in the TikTok universe, it's down to 3 seconds max which, oddly, is about the time span I would have given 'Bad Blood' before screwing it into a ball and throwing it into the nearest bin. So well done for keeping me entertained for 20 minutes! R (Australia)

I’d just say keep practicing and constricting it in a way that makes it louder and over time you’ll get that volume. If it feels like you’re missing something it’s because you are. Make sure the scream is coming from as low in your throat as possible but don’t make it hurt. Also try opening up your nose. It’s hard to explain but it really works.
